Reports

Bifolk provides a set of reports to help you analyze your beekeeping operation. Reports cover harvests, hive health, honey traceability, inventory, sales, and operational costs.

Target Audience: Beekeepers reviewing their operation's performance

Accessing Reports

All reports are available from the Reports section in the sidebar. Click on Reports to expand the menu, then select the report you want to view.

Every report respects the organization selector in the sidebar. If you have selected a specific organization, the report only shows data for that organization. If no organization is selected, data from all your organizations is combined.

Date Range and Filters

Most reports use a date range filter. The default date range is determined by your profile setting:

  • Current Year - Shows data from January 1st of the current year to today (default)
  • Last 365 Days - Shows data from the past 365 days

You can change this default in your Profile Settings.

To adjust the date range for a specific report:

  1. Click Show Filters at the top of the report
  2. Set the Start Date and End Date
  3. Configure any additional filters available for that report
  4. Click Apply Filters
  5. To return to the default view, click Reset Filters

Tip

The current date range is always displayed below the filter button so you can see which period the report covers without opening the filter panel.

Hive Reports

Harvest Report

The Harvest Report provides a comprehensive view of your harvests (honey, honeycomb, pollen, propolis, and wax) with statistics, trends, and per-hive comparisons.

What it shows:

  • Summary statistics - Total harvests, total weight (kg), average weight per harvest, and total frames harvested (honey/honeycomb only)
  • By harvest type - A breakdown showing harvest count and total weight per harvest type (Honey, Honeycomb, Pollen, Propolis, Wax)
  • Monthly harvest trends - A line chart showing weight and number of harvests over time
  • Hive production comparison - A bar chart comparing total weight across hives
  • Per-hive breakdown - A table listing each hive's harvest count, total weight, average weight, and frames. For harvests involving multiple hives, weight and frames are split equally among the participating hives.
  • Month-by-month breakdown - A detailed table of monthly harvest totals

Note

Pollen and propolis weights are entered in grams but displayed in kg in reports. Wax weights are always in kg.

Filters:

Filter Description
Start Date Only include harvests from this date onward
End Date Only include harvests up to this date
Hives Limit the report to specific hives (hold Ctrl/Cmd to select multiple)

Hive Metrics Dashboard

The Hive Metrics Dashboard tracks hive weight and box count trends over time, based on data recorded during inspections.

What it shows:

  • Summary statistics - Total inspections with weight data, average/minimum/maximum weight, and average box count
  • Average weight trend - A line chart of average weight and box count by month
  • Per-hive weight trends - A multi-line chart showing individual weight trends for up to 5 hives
  • Per-hive latest data - A table showing each hive's most recent weight, box count, and inspection date
  • Harvest forecasts - Seasonal honey forecasts for tracked hives, based on weight gain patterns

Filters:

Filter Description
Start Date Only include inspections from this date onward
End Date Only include inspections up to this date
Hives Limit the report to specific hives (leave empty for all hives)

Note

Only inspections where weight was recorded are included. Inspections without weight data do not appear in this dashboard.

Health Changes Report

The Health Changes Report provides a timeline of health events across your hives, including status changes for hives and queens, and inspections that flagged health issues.

What it shows:

  • Summary statistics - Number of hives monitored, total health status changes (hive and queen), inspections with issues, and monitoring period
  • Health status distribution - Current distribution of health statuses across your hives
  • Per-hive summary - Change count, inspection count, and last inspection date per hive (up to 20 hives)
  • Health status step charts - Health status over time for up to 5 hives (and their queens, if applicable), shown as stepped lines that span the full selected date range. Each line holds its value flat until a status change occurs, then steps to the new status. The Y-axis labels and scale are derived from your configured health status choices and their ordering in System Configuration.
  • Timeline - A chronological list of all health events, including:
    • Hive health status changes (with old and new status)
    • Queen health status changes (with old and new status)
    • Inspections where disease, pests, or aggressive temperament were observed

Filters:

Filter Description
Start Date Only include events from this date onward
End Date Only include events up to this date
Hives Limit the report to specific hives (hold Ctrl/Cmd to select multiple)
Include Inspection Observations When checked, inspections with disease, pests, or aggressive behavior are included in the timeline. Uncheck to show only status changes.

Moisture Report

The Moisture Report shows moisture content measurements across your honey buckets, helping you monitor honey quality.

What it shows:

  • Overall statistics - Total buckets measured, average moisture percentage, minimum and maximum moisture
  • By charge/batch - Moisture statistics grouped by charge identifier, including honey type, year, average/min/max moisture, and bucket count

Filters:

Filter Description
Start Date Only include buckets filled from this date onward
End Date Only include buckets filled up to this date

Tip

Only buckets that have a moisture percentage recorded are included in this report. Record moisture values when filling buckets to get meaningful data here.

Honey Reports

Honey Pipeline

The Honey Pipeline report provides a traceability overview of your honey from harvest through to final jar status. It follows the complete flow: Harvest to Batch to Bucket to Jar.

  • Harvest by honey type - A doughnut chart and table showing total weight, harvest count, and average weight per honey type
  • Jar status distribution - A pie chart and table showing how many jars are in each status (e.g., in stock, sold, gifted) with total weight
  • Batch summary - A table of batches grouped by honey type and status (open/closed)
  • Bucket inventory - A table showing bucket count, total weight, and average moisture by honey type
  • Recent batches - The 5 most recently created batches with charge identifier, honey type, status, bucket count, and creation date

Tips for Working with Reports

  • Switch organizations to compare performance across different beekeeping groups. Select "All Organizations" in the sidebar to see combined data.
  • Use date ranges strategically - Compare the same period across years to spot trends and improvements.
  • Record data consistently - Reports are only as good as the data you enter. Record weights during inspections, costs for operations, and moisture values for buckets to get the most out of these reports.
  • Check the Health Changes Report regularly - It provides an early warning system for problems across your hives.
