Search

Bifolk provides a global search that lets you quickly find hives, queens, honey batches, inventory items, and more across all your organizations.

Target Audience: Beekeepers and end users

The fastest way to search is the quick search modal. You can open it from any page.

  • Click the search icon in the top navigation bar
  • Or press Ctrl+K on your keyboard (Cmd+K on macOS)

A search dialog opens in the center of the screen.

  1. Start typing your search term (minimum 2 characters)
  2. Results appear automatically as you type, grouped by category (hives, queens, honey batches, etc.)
  3. Use the arrow keys (Up / Down) to navigate through results
  4. Press Enter to open the selected result
  5. Press Esc to close the search dialog

Quick search shows a limited number of results per category. For more comprehensive searching, click Advanced Search at the bottom of the dialog.

The advanced search page gives you full control over your search with filtering and pagination.

  • Click Advanced Search at the bottom of the quick search dialog
  • Or navigate directly to the search results page from the quick search modal

Understanding Results

Each search result shows:

  • Entity type badge: Identifies what kind of record it is (Hive, Queen, Honey Batch, etc.)
  • Name: The primary identifier of the record
  • Subtitle: Additional context (e.g., location for a hive, breed for a queen)

Click any result to navigate directly to that record's detail page.

Pagination

When filters are active and there are many results, the results are paginated with 20 items per page. Use the page navigation at the bottom to browse through results.
